Human City sneak peek

Hey friends. I'm working hard on finishing this chapter of Human City. I'm about halfway done inking it then I want to finishing at least an issue's worth of pages to have something to sell at conventions, while I try to finish the graphic novel. Here's a splash page of the inks from one of the pages. This will eventually have graytones added to it. Hope you enjoy! This page features a lot of friends from my time at Kubert School, as well as my collaborators from Dead City Kids. Merry Christmas!

VS Movie Poster

I recently completed a movie poster for the independent super-hero movie "VS", starring Jason Trost, James Remar (Dexter, the Warriors), and Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class). This was a really fun job to work on, and I got to draw some cool costumes designed by my bud, Sarah Trost, of Project Runway fame.

The Sound Magazine

Recently, I was asked to do the cover for a magazine out of the Connecticut/NY area called the Sound Magazine. A former co-worker of mine from Project Runway wrote an article on his top 10 albums of the year and asked me to illustrate the artists in a battle royale type situation. If you're in the NY/CT area, you should pick up a copy. They're free!

The Holidays Don't Have to be so Rotten (volume 2)

Been a while since I updated. This is the new cover for The Holidays Don't have to be so Rotten vol. 2, the all instrumental Christmas compilation coming out soon from Flannelgraph Records. My next update won't be in 3 months. I actually have been working and going to conventions (Wizard World Chicago, Kokomo-Con, Mid-Ohio Con, and others). I have 2 other jobs I'm finishing up, plus an update with Human City coming soon. I'll also be posting some Omega sketches here and there.

Rodeo Ruby Love

I did this shirt for my friends Rodeo Ruby Love. They're on tour right now living out my ska loving 13 year old dreams of playing with Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto. Go see them, buy a shirt, listen to some good jams, tell Zach he needs to find his 5th pocket, give Kyle a hug, and don't curse in front of Annie.

CGS Super Show!

Hey everybody! I'll be at the Comic Geek Speak's Super Show in Reading, Pennsylvania next weekend (April 30-May 1). I'll be hanging out in IZZER ALLEY, thanks to Charlito from Indie Spinner Rack for hooking that up. Find out more about the show at Comic Geek Speak's website.

I'll have copies of the Human City story I did for Joe Kubert's class for sale.
Check it out!

Also, I'll be selling prints of this recently colored Joker piece.

If you'd like early commissions for the show, email me.

I'll also be doing sketches, selling old art, old prints, and what remaining copies I have of "A Fistful of Comics".

Hope to see you there!

Also check out the "MARVEL BABES" class collaboration I took part in with my buddies in 3A at the Kubert School on SHUT UP ONION.

Octopus double page spread

Double Page spread for a recent Joe Kubert Assignment. The other pages for this assignment turned out okay, but nothing I'm crazy about.

DCK pencils

Pencils to my project with Zane and Brea Grant. Some of these are rough, but will be tightened up in the inks. I've got 2 pages inked already and am working hard on the other ones.

Joker

Done for Buniak's class. We were supposed to take a famous image and make it our own. There's no special meaning behind this piece. It was done to fulfill the purpose of the assignment. Try not to read too much into it.

Dead City Kids Cover

Cover for a new project I'm working on with Brea and Zane Grant. They wrote "We Will Bury You" and are currently working on the Suicide Girls comic for IDW. Super cool people and a fun script to work from. We're working up some narrative pitch pages to shop around. Hopefully something comes of it! I'll let you know.

Sacrifice

This actually happened to me when I worked for the YMCA in Peru, Indiana. I was working in the childcare department. The only exaggeration is that I didn't have an iPhone at the time. Pen and ink then digitally lettered.

Aldo the Apache

UPDATE: SOLD

Watercolor painting of Lt. Aldo Raine, AKA Aldo the Apache. Brad Pitt's character from Inglourious Basterds. Kind of rushed, but it turned out okay. I think scanning it dulled down the colors.
